According to MLB.com, the Los Angeles Dodgers are close to a deal with free-agent starting pitcher Zack Greinke.
This is after another team in the Greinke race, the Texas Rangers, were notified that the pitcher is considering another route. Meaning for the Mets, aside the fact that they’re out of the Greinke race as well, that a possible trade involving the Dodgers and Mets’ Cy Young award winner R.A. Dickey is out of the “consideration” market as well.
