According to WFAN's Eddie Coleman, the Mets have agreed to a contract extension with third baseman David Wright. Reports say that it is an eight year, $138 million deal that will keep Wright in New York though the 2020 season. The deal won't be officially announced until next week, however, because of a physical and other minor details because Wright is in Jacksonville, Florida for Daniel Murphy's wedding.
Reports say that Dickey is content with a two-year extension and that its just comes down to a matter of dollars between the two sides. They are now unlikely to trade the Cy Young winner unless they receive a deal that is too good to pass up.
